Stylus Pen Buyer Checklist
A stylus pen checklist starts from the use, then the tip shape and the feel in the hand, then the quantity and the delivery date.

The checklist, in order
First, name the use: note-taking on a screen, sketching, or general screen work. Second, name the tip shape in plain words, and the feel wanted in the hand. Third, name the quantity and the delivery date. That order keeps the brief short. A buyer who needs detail on a particular item asks for it in the inquiry.
Stylus pens are listed separately from metal pens on this site. The metal pens page covers pens with a metal barrel look, while this checklist covers pens for touch screens. State the two families as separate lines in your inquiry.
Questions to carry into the inquiry
- What use is the stylus pen for: note-taking, sketching or general screen work?
- What tip shape suits that use, in plain words?
- What barrel style suits long sessions in the hand?
- What quantity is needed, and what delivery date applies?
- What else needs settling before ordering, stated in plain words?
Checking tip type and screen use
Name the touchscreen devices the stylus is meant to suit, such as tablets, kiosk screens or laptop touch panels, and ask the supplier which tip types work on each. Ask for samples with a rubber dome tip, a mesh fabric tip and a clear disc tip if available, then test each one on the actual screens. State whether the stylus sits on the same body as a ballpoint or stands alone, and ask how the tip is fixed to the barrel.
List the checks to run on each sample: tip glide, pressure needed to register a tap, noise on glass and wear after repeated swipes. Ask whether replacement tips are available and how they fit. State whether the ballpoint end needs a twist or click mechanism, and ask how that action affects the stylus end. Choose a body only after the team has tried it on the devices named in the brief, and note the findings on each sample for the final order.
Branding, packing and order details for stylus pens
Ask where the printable area sits on a stylus pen, because the tip and mechanism often take up space on the barrel. State the logo size and colors, and ask for the marking method in your inquiry for the chosen body. Request a proof at real size showing the logo, any web address and the tip end in the same image. Ask whether the tip color can be matched to the brand, and name the shade from the brand guide if so.
Give the quantity range and the deadline, and ask for the lead time and minimum order on the chosen stylus in writing. Ask how the pens are packed, whether in bulk, individual sleeves or gift boxes, and whether a spare tip pack can be added. Name any labelling or insert card needed, and request carton dimensions for the warehouse team. Ask for a pre shipment sample from the same batch so the team can test the tips before the order ships.
